Fiona and Andrew got married at the very end of August in the lovely University Chapel in Glasgow. Since Fiona graduated there, the chapel was their first and obvious choice for their wedding ceremony. My day started at Fiona’s gran’s house, where the family gathered and the girls got ready. Fiona had picked a pure white wedding dress, which is not something I see very often since most girls suit ivory better - but Fiona could carry it off! She looked stunning!
After some photos of Fiona and her family, I made my way over to the Uni chapel where Andrew and his best man were enjoying an Irn Bru and the calm before the storm :) A little while later, Fiona attracted quite a crowd of tourists when she arrived in her open top Beaufort with her dad.
After the ceremony, we went across to the cloisters to take some photos - the weather was a bit changeable but we managed to escape most of the rain! The cloisters are simply ideal if the weather is a bit wet, as it is always sheltered there and looks very impressive.
Fiona and Andrew's reception took place in the Glynhill Hotel, a short drive away from Glasgow. Classic cars are notoriously slow, and I thought I would be clever and didn't take the motorway just in case of any jams, but was caught up in so many temporary traffic lights that I managed to arrive after them! :) Their reception was beautifully decorated and the tables named after flowers.
I managed to sneak Fiona and Andrew away for a few photos in between the meal and dancing, which was great as we got some gorgeous shots in Glynhill Hotel's gardens. And then the evening started properly with a very romantic first dance and a good ceilidh!
Fiona & Andrew, many congratulations again, you made my job so easy! Hope you enjoy this preview of your photos and catch up soon!
"Thank you so much Mareike, they are stunning, absolutely love them! Will struggle to pick ones to put into frames, our house will be covered in wedding photos!!"
