Daniel and Louise had chosen a scorcher of a day when they got married last month in swish Brisbane House Hotel in Largs. But although the sun was properly out and shining, there was still snow in places! I joined the girls in the morning while they were getting ready in the hotel, and as usual there was a fair bit of activity in the room - with five bridesmaids and their daughter Amy-Louise, plus two stylists thrown into the mix, no wonder! When Louise first got in touch with me, I remember how she told me that not only she was excited about finally getting married to her highschool sweatheart Daniel. But her excitement was almost surpassed by that of Amy-Louise. All the nerves and excitement must have gotten to her though as she went for a nap shortly after I arrived! No mean feat amidst the hustle and bustle!
Louise and Daniel's civil ceremony had plenty of tears (from both mum of the bride and the bride herself), and I felt decidedly choked up myself (I'm definitely getting worse!). Afterwards it was out to brace the cold seaside air as we walked along Largs Promenade to get some shots on the pier.
Back in Brisbane House Hotel, the guests sat down for some speeches - I always enjoy listening to them, as so much thought and personality goes into them and I always learn so much about the couple. Afterwards I witnessed the perhaps quickest turnaround of any wedding breakfast I have ever attended, as Brisbane House Hotel staff managed to finish the meal and turn around the room in record speed, ahead of time! The first dance was another tear jerker as after a few minutes of swirling across the dance floor, Louise and Daniel were joined by their kids. The party had just begun when I was time for me to leave - but I know that later in the evening, their guests were treated to Radio Clyde DJ George Bowie and a fireworks display... some party!!
Louise and Daniel, I enjoyed so much being part of your wonderful day. Thank you again for everything! I wish you & your wee family all the very best for your future.
"Thank you so much Mareike, they are all stunning pictures, bringing it all back to me again which I think I needed as I just want to do it all over again x looking forward to seeing the rest of them and thanks again xxxx"
