Claudi & Dirk : Married : Part II

Here is the second installment of the wedding I shot back in October, of my gorgeous friend Claudi and Dirk. We left off as the happy couple made their way in style to the registry office...
The ceremony was simple but touching, and followed by champagne, bubbles and roses in front of Hanover's town hall. We then made our way to the Maschsee, a big lake in the middle of Hanover, for the wedding meal. I loved the fact that the two had chosen a place for their wedding celebrations which had real meaning for them; Claudi and Dirk had walked around the Maschsee on their very first date.

Claudi & Dirk, I've said this before but you had the perfect wedding and I had great fun capturing it!!

Claudi & Dirk : Married : Part I

That's right, there are two parts to Claudi & Dirk's wedding post - I have so many favourite photos that I couldn't narrow them down to just the one post!

Claudi is a very good friend and I couldn't be happier for her and Dirk - they had a beautiful autumn wedding in Hanover, Germany at the beginning of October which was planned to perfection. Claudi just looked so elegant in her two-piece dress, with her hairdo complimenting her classic style, and Dirk wasn't looking so bad either ;) They both stayed over and got ready in the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof in Hanover. I had arranged to meet Claudi there at 10am, and I was early. Now, for all her strong points Claudi isn't known as the most punctual person, yet there she was, dressed, made up and ready when I arrived! In the guys' room, Dirk and his best man were also quick getting ready, but I still had the chance to advise on where the buttonholes should be placed :) Claudi and Dirk met each other before the ceremony (which was very sweet), and made their way to the registry office together...

To be continued!

Autumn break

The best weekend for an autumn break must be the weekend when the clocks go back, as you get an hour for free wherever you stay - so Gary and I couldn't have picked a better date for our trip up North! :) We stayed again in the Glenfinnan House Hotel, where we got married last year. I love the place for its oldy-worldy charm and it never disappoints! Gary and I had a rather fancy dinner in the dining room on Saturday night, which was very tasty and reminded me of our wedding meal - same main course. It was all so relaxing that I almost managed to switch off, well apart from spending the odd hour on my laptop designing a wedding album - while Gary was fast asleep so I don't feel guilty!
The weather was perfect for lazying about indoors (another way of saying, it was a bit dire) so just a couple of photos from our trip...

A very moody looking Rannoch Moor - the sort of place you don't want to break down in the middle of the night :)

...and some Autumn foliage and low-hanging clouds at Loch Lubnaig.
