Last weekend our day trip took us to the Pineapple, Culross, and Airth Castle. I'm going to give you a bit of a fuller description today - in case you want to repeat this trip yourself :) I can definitely recommend it!
We started off at the Pineapple, which is a pineapple-shaped building (strange I know) just North of Airth. Hard to believe it was built in the 18th century - it's quite funky and I really like it. There are some beautiful gardens around it, and I could imagine going here for a picnic in the summer.
Afterwards, we went across the Kincardine bridge, to Culross. Walking around this village is like going back in time - it's the closest thing to experiencing a 16th century village in Scotland. Gary and I walked up to the Abbey, enjoyed the sunshine, and talked. It was so peaceful.
We finished the day out with lunch at Airth Castle - a place we have last visited when we were looking for a wedding location. I still have a soft spot for it - it's a castle after all. There was a wedding going on and a photographer was taking shots of the couple on the lawn. I felt the urge to walk up and take a few pictures myself - but sadly (or fortunately) Gary held me back!

The next few pictures just scream "Spring" I think... (look out for the bumble bee)

Culross with its cobbled streets and beautiful abbey...

And Airth Castle - bathed in sunshine ;)
